Des Plaines based Illinois Bone and Joint Institute won approval from the Algonquin Planning and Zoning Commission for a special use permit to open a medical office in Winding Creek Center at 2719 West Algonquin Road in the Village. The final approval will be voted on at the August 6 Algonquin Village Board meeting.

Exterior features of the existing building will not be changed, according to the application, but there should be framing work and new walls to create interior exam rooms, and some plumbing and electrical changes to the interior. The satellite facility is expected to provide consultation and diagnostic imaging services to as many as 50 patients per day. Between 8 and 12 employees are expected to be hired to staff the office.
