Marengo Considering Annexation And Rezoning For Solar Energy Farm

The Marengo Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a hearing at Marengo City Hall Monday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. to consider annexation, rezoning and permitting for a 235 acre solar panel farm on both sides of Johnson Road south of Route 20. The proposed clean energy project by Marengo Solar LLC, a consortium of SunEast Development, Enel Green Energy and Energy Renewal Partners, could save the City of Marengo as much as $130,000.00 in electricity bills for the city’s waste water treatment plant.
