Pending approval of its proposed real estate tax abatement by McHenry School District 15, Jessup proposes to add 40,000 square feet to its manufacturing facility in the City, nearly doubling the factory’s size. The planned expansion would cost $6.3 million, and could bring 15 additional jobs to the plant.

The maker of adhesive films, nonslip tapes, photoluminescents and specialty graphics is asking the taxing bodies to abate anticipated real property tax increases of approximately $118,000.00 per year, to help pay for extension of a municipal water main which would serve the expanded factory as well as other property owners along Route 120. All taxing bodies have approved the abatements except District 15, which has yet to vote on the issue.
