Crystal Lake Turns Down Discount Tire Store

Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously rejected a proposal for construction of a Discount Tire store near Three Oaks Recreation Area. Discount Tire was asking for permission to build a store on a one acre portion of the vacant property formerly occupied by Pauly Toyota on Route 14. Crystal Lake city planners envision development of the vacant parcel to include high end retail shops and entertainment venues taking advantage of views of the lake adjacent to the property.
