Lake In The Hills Proposes $2 Million Water Special Service Area

June 11 at 7:30 p.m. Lake in the Hills Village Board will vote on creation of proposed special service area 51, to issue $2 million in bonds for funding replacement of water mains in an area serving 64 homes outside the village boundaries. Passage of the bond issue could mean additional property taxes on each of the 64 properties up to $2,891.00 per year. Construction of the proposed new water mains is slated to begin in February of 2020. Property owners opposed to the tax increases funding the project have until June 11 to file a petition signed by 33 or more of them with the Village Clerk to stop the tax and bond issue.
