With approval by the Woodstock City Council of sales tax rebates of about $55,000.00 per year for 12 years, Kunes Country Jeep at 1790 South Eastwood Drive will begin a $3.6 million expansion of its showroom and repair facilities. The new owner of what was formerly Benoy Jeep at the corner of Route 14 and Route 47 expects the expansion to double or triple its sales.

After collecting the first $100,000.00 in sales taxes each year, the city will rebate up to 20% of additional sales taxes to the dealer. If the dealership’s sales grow faster than expected, the tax rebates could be as large as 50% of the $3.6 million project expenditure.
