McHenry Luxury Skilled Nursing “Resort” To Open In 2020

Ignite Medical Resorts plans a luxurious nursing home next to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital at the northeast corner of Bull Valley Road and Ridgeview Drive. The proposed 84 room facility, names Transformative Health of McHenry, plans groundbreaking in spring 2019 and completion in 2020. According to Ignite CEO Tom Fields, the facility will allow patients recovering from hospital procedures to recover in a luxury environment including an on site pharmacy, a Starbucks and food bistro, and physical, speech and occupational therapy facilities and professionals.

Fields says the project will create 200 construction jobs during the build out, and 120 permanent health care jobs. The 55,000 square foot one story building will include 60 private and 24 semi-private rooms for patients, serving those recovering from stroked, heart attacks and orthopaedic surgeries. City of McHenry authorities and the Illinois Health Facilities and Service Review Board have already approved the plan.
