International Code Council’s G108 and 13 related changes to International Building Codes are making progress toward approval of new increased heights and fire safety requirements for construction of wood framed buildings up to 270 feet high. Code officials voted 220 to 103 for approval of the new provisions.

Online voting and final technical reviews and standards board final approval are still to come, but all signs point to adoption of new tall timber International Building Code provisions in 2019.
