Huntley village officials are considering applications for development of two new brew pubs in the village: one near downtown, Sew Hop‘d Brewery, to be located in the Union Special Plaza mixed use facility with a 2,700 square foot microbrewery and outdoor seating area; the other, More Brewing Company, a much larger 25,000 square foot redevelopment in the former Chevrolet dealership at 13980 Automall Drive, near the Route 47/I-90 interchange.
Huntley’s Village Board approved an ordinance authorizing the Sew Hop’d project in April, but other paperwork required for opening that facility is still outstanding. A conceptual proposal for the More Brewing redevelopment was presented to the Board December 20 and received favorable comments from village officials. Proponents of the More Brewing project estimate it will bring 75 jobs to the community. More Brewing proposes 14,000 square feet of restaurant, outdoor patio and special events area, plus 11,000 square feet of beer production, including brew house, fermentation, barrel aging, conditioning and packaging equipment. More has yet to propose appropriate signage to draw visitors traveling in both directions along I-90.
