At its December 17 meeting the Crystal Lake City Council approved construction of a 7.5 acre, 60 unit senior housing project at 355 Station Drive in the community, to be developed by DKI, builder of several existing senior facilities in surrounding communities. The project is a mixture of one and two bedroom units, each with its own kitchen.
According to city planner Elizabeth Maxwell, the facility will include high end trim carpentry, vaulted ceilings and chandeliers, with a theater room, community area, café, library game room, fitness room and individual storage areas. Outdoor amenities are part of the plan, including a gazebo, patio, walking paths and substantial green space for the residents.
