Taking a few clues from the recent completion of the Route 47/I-90 interchange and from their neighbor to the east Weber Grill, Elgin developer Rich Turasky and his Chicago partner Michael Reschke are using their business Huntley Development Partners LLC to finalize plans for turning the now demolished 68 acre Huntley Outlet Mall parcel into a subdivision of three huge distribution warehouse facilities, two of 254,000 square feet, and a third of 177,000 square feet. Although they do not yet have proposed tenants for any of the warehouse buildings, Reschke says 90% of such projects are not completed until the buildings are under construction.

Given the well known opposition of Mayor Sass and the Huntley trustees to construction of new steel buildings in the village, it seems likely the proposed distribution facilities will be tilt up precast panel construction, perhaps with brick façade offices facing the side away from the Tollway.
