Chicago City Council Approves $8.5 Billion O’Hare Expansion Plans

United, American, Spirit and Delta will bear the entire cost of expanding O’Hare from 180 gates to 220 gates under a plan approved by Chicago City Council. Construction is expected to be complete by 2026, meaning area union construction tradespeople will have a lot more work for the next eight years.
