Mercy is already moving earth on the site of its proposed Crystal Lake microhospital, and the Crystal Lake City Council has given its blessing to the project’s final site plan, despite the ongoing lawsuit by Centegra and Advocate seeking to overturn the certificate of need from the Illinois Health Facilities Services and Review Board approving the project. At the city council meeting voting on site plan approval, Crystal Lake Mayor Aaron Shepley, who serves as general counsel for Centegra, recused himself from voting and deliberations, and left City Hall during the discussion.
