Mercy “Micro Hospital” Seeking Final Site Plan Approval, Facing Court Challenge

Mercyhealth is moving forward with its final proposed site plan for a 13 bed 111,346 square foot microhospital on 16 acres at Route 31 and Three Oaks Road in Crystal Lake. The proposed hospital would house 11 medical surgical beds, two intensive care beds, two operating rooms, laboratory and x-ray facilities, and a comprehensive emergency room. A 39,922 square foot medical office building with 42 exam rooms, and a helipad, would be connected to the hospital.

Meanwhile, one day after Crystal Lake’s City Council votes on the site plan, a hearing is scheduled on the lawsuit by Centegra and Advocate opposing the certificate of need for the facility granted by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
