Federal Omnibus Spending Bill Promises Construction Contractors Increases Totaling $15.3 Billion

According to the House Appropriations Committee, the pending Omnibus appropriations bill for fiscal 2018 includes just over $15.3 billion of 9increased federal expenditures which will go to construction projects. Here’s the breakdown of the budget increases:
Highways $3.5 billion
Railways $3.1 billion
Veterans Administration $2.0 billion
Airports $1.0 billion
TIGER Grants $1.0 billion
Commerce, Justice and NASA $1.0 billion
Waterways and Flood Control $918 million
EPA Clean Water $700 million
Rural Broadband $625 million
Drinking Water and Sewer $500 million
Centers for Disease Control $500 million
GSA Construction $486 million
