Huntley’s North Side Getting New Jewel Food Store

The Village of Huntley is offering a 50% sales tax rebate to Jewel in return for development of an $11.5 million, 63,538 sf grocery store on the north side of town, just East of the Walgreen’s store at the corner of Route 47 and Reed Road. Jewel also intends to invest an additional $1 million in renovations at its existing store on the south side of town in Huntley’s Gateway Center.

In addition, plans are afoot for a filling station on a 2.66 acre outlot next door to the new north side grocery store.
