Last October 24, U. S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone of the Eastern District of Texas issued an injunction against enforcement pf the Obama administration’s new rule requiring bidders on federal government construction contracts to disclose in their bid documents all past violations of workplace safety and labor laws, which became final last August. February 2, the House of Representatives voted 236 to 187 along party lines to disapprove the rule. The House measure now goes to the Senate, where passage, also along party lines, is expected. If the bill passes, President Trump undoubtedly will sign it and trumpet the legislation as fulfilling his campaign promise to begin reducing regulations on business.
